Set in a future Earth (2035 A.D.) where robots are common assistants and workers for their human owners, this is the story of 'robotophobic' Chicago Police Detective Del Spooner's (Smith) investigation into the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), who works at U.S. Robotics, in which a robot, Sonny (Tudyk), appears to be implicated, even though that would mean the robot had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. It seems impossible because.. if robots can break those laws, there's nothing to stop them from taking over the world, as humans have grown to become completely dependent upon their robots. Or maybe... they already have? Aiding Spooner in his investigation is a psychologist, Dr. Susan Calvin (Moynahan), who specializes in the psyches of robots.

The first time I saw this movie, I was very surprised, what a good film, it's just my taste.I love, and seen by nearly four times, and I can still look for another four times more! Is filled with science fiction and action, it is my favorite genre. Sometimes I am thinking of robots in the movie, I think that what happens in the DVD movie I, Robot will be realized in the future, how the human being at that age, I think there will be a hero who will save the world is dominated by the cunning robots, they have no heart, no love, no emotion, which has only an empty metal body.What 'll happen if we are ruled by them? I can not imagine how they could, people who are doing the work while the robots are the lashes, so terrible. Now, science and technology are well developed, the human will use robots, think about our future, please be concerned about ourselves.

I thought the concept of the story was good, as could be seen as realistic. Given the increasing advances in modern technology, one can indeed conceive of the possibility of such future events. I really do not see any flaws in this film: I, Robot or the character actor, but the philosophical aspect of the I, Robot Thriller movie questions how artificial intelligence will be artificial and real consciousness arise? Anyway, I like the AI in this DVD film I, Robot and certainly recommend, especially if you like Will Smith are the Terminator films in the series. However, they prefer not to sequels of this DVD film I, Robot because of the fact that a sequel would probably be no more than an upgraded model of the first. With that said, I see it. 8 / 10

I really can not think of any redeeming this absolutely poor provision of Asimov that the direction of art. Forget product placement in cases of disaster, the unconvincing performance of Will Smith and the giant plot holes. This not only ridiculous and painful, but to see. Even the action was boring. A mixture of inspiration from the production values of MTV and totally bad dialogue probably aimed at very young children. What a shame that this bad science fiction can still be made after we have had Bladerunner, Minority Report or to a lesser extent Dark City (by the same director). This really belongs to the list below 100. Truly horrible.

Asimov must pass over in his grave. This parody of a I, Robot Thriller film makes fun of everything he stood for. Asimov, a devout pacifist, wanted to create a series of stories about robots that are not based on violence to advance the idiot plot. Their stories are based on humans (and robots) using intelligence and reasoning to solve problems. I also wanted to create stories that contradicts the stereotype of the "Frankenstein" reason. This I, Robot movie does exactly the opposite. Clearly the writers casually browsed books, selected a few choice names, and then proceeded to write a script that had the intellectual depth of an episode of Barney the purple dinosaur. The most tragic aspect of the multimillion insult there is already a wonderful award-winning screenplay by Harlan Ellison, which has been printed in book form. This script weaves disparate Asimov's robot stories in the satisfaction of an intellectual history that has remained faithful to the vision of Asimov. All true fans of science fiction (ie, readers, and I'm not talking about those of you who just read the latest Star Wars movie: I, Robot novelization or otherwise) should avoid this DVD movie I, Robot at any cost.
